Desafíos en la reintegración de migrantes retornados: un estudio sobre las acciones de las instituciones hondureñas

    El flujo migratorio irregular en Honduras ha aumentado significativamente, con una estimación de 55,700 migrantes hondureños retornados en 2025. La presente investigación tiene como objetivo analizar las acciones realizadas por las instituciones hondureñas para la reintegración de los migrantes retornados. Se desarrollaron trece entrevistas semiestructuradas a organizaciones no gubernamentales, cooperación internacional, administración pública y sector privado. No hay estrategias de reintegración ni mecanismos de seguimiento, solamente de recepción, razón que motiva a reemprender la ruta migratoria. El mayor desafío de las instituciones entrevistadas radica en la falta de recursos económicos para el desarrollo de programas de reintegración. La migración de retorno debe ser abordada desde el accionar preventivo y no solo reactivo, mediante el esfuerzo conjunto, articulado e integral.

    The irregular migratory flow in Honduras has increased significantly, with an estimated 55,700 Honduran migrant returnees in 2025. This research aims to analyze the actions taken by Honduran institutions for the reintegration of returned migrants. Thirteen semi-structured interviews were conducted with non-governmental organizations, international cooperation, public administration and the private sector. There are no reintegration strategies or follow-up mechanisms, only reception, which is the reason for returning to the migratory route. The greatest challenge for the institutions interviewed lies in the lack of economic resources for the development of reintegration programs. Return migration should be approached from a preventive and not only reactive point of view, through joint, articulated and comprehensive efforts.
