  • Resumen
    • The less predisposition of women to choose technological studies has been proved systematicallyin different contexts and with participants with different age. Secondary female students are lessinterested in ICT-related studies and domains than their male counterparts. For this reason, thisstudy was carried out with 900 students enrolled in the last course of the Spanish CompulsorySecondary System in Catalonia (15 years old). The main aim of this study is to analyze theinfluence of a group of psychosocial variables in the election of ICT-related studies. It ispredicted that perceived math ability and perceived computer ability are the best predictors of theintention to pursue ICT-related studies. In this sense, boys will have a higher self-perception ofcomputer and math abilities than their female counterparts, which will influence in their higherintention to choice of ICT-related studies in the future.
