In the context of digital intelligence empowerment, digital literacy has become a required ability, which directly affects the employability and career development of university students. How to effectively enhance digital literacy, particularly exploring its relationship with digital situational perception, is a pressing concern. The study uses a convenience sampling method, based on situational learning theory, to provide an empirical survey of 9,788 university students from 60 universities in China. The study found that digital situational perception has a direct predictive effect on digital literacy of university students. Technology acceptance and peer interaction act as chain mediators between digital situational perception and digital literacy. The study elucidates the impact mechanism of digital literacy of university students, which provides a theoretical basis and practical reference for promotion as well as development of digital literacy education in universities.
