    En su obra narrativa, el escritor nicaragüense SergioRamírez Mercado (1942) ficcionaliza diferentes tópicos dela vida social y de la realidad histórica de Centroaméricay se interesa por incorporar una fuerte referencialidada cada uno de los países, apoyándose en un ejercicio derepresentación de temas como el poder, la pobreza, laguerra, la migración, la economía y la cultura. En estaponencia se analiza de manera específica el tema de lamigración en el cuento ‘Abbott y Costello’, el cual perteneceal libro Flores oscuras, publicado en el 2012. Enel análisis que se efectúa se determina qué elementosconstituyen el imaginario costarricense en el texto ycómo son replanteados o subvertidos en la escritura.

    In his narrative work, the Nicaraguan writer SergioRamírez Mercado (1942) fictionalizes differenttopics about the social life and the historical realityof Central America in incorporating a strong referentialityto each of the countries; relying on anrepresentation exercise of themes such as power,poverty, war, migration, economy, and culture. In thispaper, the topic of migration is analyzed in the story‘Abbott and Costello’, which belongs to the book DarkFlowers, published in 2012. In the analysis, Migrationis studied as the main chronotope of the text with itsorganic character and dialog, and it is linked to theconstruction and discursive deconstruction of the CostaRican imaginary. In the analysis, we define which elementsconstitute the Costa Rican imaginary in the textand how they are restated or subverted in the writing.
