Resumen de La Cerámica Artística y Decorativa en Vasconia

El conocimiento que tenemos sobre las características y evolución de la producción cerámica es fruto de la investigación realizada por Leandro Silván en la década de los ochenta del pasado siglo. A ella se sumó en los noventa la síntesis sobre alfarería popular realizada por Enrique Ibabe y, en 2009, la del Museo Vasco de Bilbao, sobre la producción de carácter utilitario en loza, porcelana y gres, siglos XVIII-XX referida a todo el ámbito cultural vasco. Con estos excelentes cimientos abordamos someramente el panorama de las producciones cerámicas de carácter artístico y decorativo en Vasconía, contemporánea a la producción del Taller Cerámico Zuloaga en San Juan de los Caballeros (Segovia) que, integrada por iniciativas individuales y empresariales de pequeña escala y corto recorrido, abarcan los diversos ámbitos de la creación artística en cerámica: la Cerámica de Autor, la Cerámica Artística, la Escultura Cerámica y la Cerámica aplicada a la Arquitectura.

The knowledge we have about the characteristics and evolution of Basque Ceramic production is the result of research carried out by Leandro Silván in the 1980s. To this was added in the 1990s the synthesis of popular pottery carried out by Enrique Ibabe and, in 2009 that of the Bilbao Basque Museum, on the production of a utilitarian nature in earthenware, porcelain and stoneware, from the 17th to the 20th centuries, referring to the entire Basque culture field. With these excellent foundations, we briefly address the panorama of ceramic production of artistic and decorative nature in Vasconia that, contemporaneous with the production of the Zuloaga Ceramic Workshop in San Juan de los Caballeros (Segovia), were constituted by individual and small-scale business initiative and short tour. They covered the various fields of artistic creation in ceramics: Signature Ceramics, Artistic Ceramics, Ceramic Sculpture and Ceramic applied to Architecture.
