The aim of this study was to try new interventions aimed to improve attitudes with stigmatized people, concretely physically handicapped. The proposed strategy was the meta-stereotype. This concept has beendefined as beliefs that group members tipically have about how others see them. The positive impact ofthis strategy have been previously proved to be effective (Huici, Márquez, Ruiz y Moreno, 2002, HuiciMolero y Gómez, 2004). Results did not show significant effects of experimental manipulation either onattitudes or emotions towards the person with physical handicapped. However, a more careful analysis ofmeans, reveals a better attitude and less negative feelings in the metastereotype condition compared withthe control group.
