    Este estudio pretende ser una aportación al conocimiento del bandolerismo del sigloXIX. Para ello, comienza exponiendo con brevedad los rasgos distintivos del bandolerismodecimonónico en Extremadura, para profundizar después en los distintos relatos que handeterminado la construcción de la figura del bandolero extremeño Chico Cabrera, enmarcándoladentro de las contribuciones que ha realizado la historiografía hasta la actualidad.

    This study aims to be a contribution to the knowledge of banditry in the 19th century.To do this, it begins by briefly exposing the distinctive features of nineteenth-centurybanditry in Extremadura, to then delve into the different stories that have determined theconstruction of the figure of the Extremaduran bandit Chico Cabrera, framing it within thecontributions that historiography has made to the present day.
