This paper explores the interrelationship between the environmental crisis and mental health, proposing a reorientation of bioethics toward a holistic view that integrates both human health and environmental preservation. Drawing on the work of Van Rensselaer Potter, it argues that bioethics emerged with an integrated approach that must be revisited in light of the psychological effects of environmental degradation, such as ecoanxiety and depression. Key bioethical principles, such as intergenerational justice and respect for autonomy, are analyzed to emphasize the need for policies that not only mitigate environmental harm but also protect the mental health of present and future generations. In this context, the ecological crisis is presented as an ethical challenge that requires global action to ensure emotional and physical well-being in harmony with the environment.
