Resumen de El liderazgo (no) emocional de Alberto Núñez Feijóo: de Galicia a Madrid

  La figura del líder ha adquirido un papel cada vez más protagonista en la vida política española de los últimos tiempos. El liderazgo es uno de los principales factores explicativos del voto a partido (Jaráiz, 2017), superando incluso el peso de otros componentes tradicionales como la identificación partidista. El sistema político gallego ha estado marcado en los últimos trece años por el liderazgo de Alberto Núñez Feijóo; un liderazgo consolidado con mayoría absoluta en cada una de las cuatro elecciones al Parlamento de Galicia a las que se presentó este como candidato. Esta consolidación como líder autonómico le permitió dar el salto a la política estatal en abril de 2022, situándose al frente de un Partido Popular en un momento determinante. Las elecciones generales de julio de 2023 supusieron el primer reto de Núñez Feijóo, en dónde el Partido Popular se convirtió en la fuerza más votada, incrementando sus resultados en 48 escaños respecto a los comicios de noviembre de 2019.El objetivo de esta investigación es dar cuenta de los componentes explicativos que caracterizan el liderazgo de Alberto Núñez Feijóo, centrándonos, asimismo, en el componente emocional existente detrás de su figura. Para tal fin, mediante el empleo de dos estudios demoscópicos propios, el Estudio Postelectoral Elecciones Autonómicas en Galicia 2020 y la Encuesta Poste-lectoral Elecciones Generales 2023, realizados por el EIP-USC, se han llevado a cabo modelos de regresión multivariante aditivos. Los resultados revelan que la explicación del liderazgo de Núñez Feijóo responde más a su gestión al frente de la Xunta de Galicia y a los atributos relacionados con ésta que a la presencia del componente emocional, incluso en el escenario estatal, donde no ha gobernado.

  The figure of the leader has taken on an increasingly prominent role in Spanish political life in recent times. Leadership is one of the main factors explaining how people vote for parties (Jaráiz, 2017), even surpassing the weight of other traditional components such as party iden-tification. The Galician political system has been marked over the last thirteen years by the leadership of Alberto Núñez Feijóo, a leadership consolidated with an absolute majority in each of the four elections to the Galician Parliament in which he stood as a candidate. This consolidation as a regional leader enabled him to make the leap to national politics in April 2022, placing himself at the head of the Partido Popular at a decisive moment. The general elections of July 2023 were Núñez Feijóo’s first challenge, in which the Partido Popular became the most voted party, increasing its results by 48 seats compared to the November 2019 elections.The aim of this research is to account for the explanatory components that characterise Alberto Núñez Feijóo’s leadership, focusing also on the emotional component behind his figure. To this end, using two of our own opinion polls, the 2020 Post-Election Study on Regional Elec-tions in Galicia and the 2023 Post-Election Survey on General Elections, conducted by EIP-USC, additive multivariate regression models have been carried out. The results reveal that the explanation for Núñez Feijóo’s leadership responds more to his management at the head of the Xunta de Galicia and the attributes related to it than to the presence of the emotional component, even at the national level, where he has not governed.
