  En 1699 se inició la construcción de la iglesia de San Francisco Javier y laconsiguiente fundación de la localidad del mismo nombre. Como en muchas otraslocalidades de la comarca del Mar Menor se financió su construcción con los censosy arrendamientos de las parcelas que conformaban la fábrica de la iglesia, asícomo por limosnas y obras pías que permitieron mantener el culto y continuar elproceso de edificación a lo largo de todo el siglo XVIII. Uno de los activos de estasobras pías fue una almazara de prensa y viga, propiedad del que fuera párroco deSan Javier por aquellos años.

  In 1699 began the construction of the church of San Francisco Javier andthe subsequent foundation of the town of the same name. As in many other localitiesof the region of the Mar Menor, its construction was financed by the censusesand leases of the plots that made up the church factory, as well as alms and piousworks that allowed to maintain the cult and continue the building process throughoutthe eighteenth century. One of the assets of these pious works was a press andbeam oilmill, owned by the parish priest of San Javier during those years.
