    La reducción a la unidad es sustancia de la tradición mística. Los raptos y visiones acompañan a la experiencia mística, pero no son constitutivos de ella. Más allá de los raptos visionarios, la mística se fundamenta en la simple y abisal experiencia de la unidad. El contacto directo entre el individuo y dios, característica básica de la experiencia mística, refleja la experiencia de la unidad en el origen.

    Reduction to the unit is substance of the mystical tradition. Raptures and visions accompany the mystical experience but the are not constituens of it. Further on from the visionary raptures, the mystical is based on the simple and abysmal experience of the unit. The direct contact between the individual and God, a basic characteristic of the mystical experience, reflects the experience of the unit in the beginning.
