Picaresca y desvíos sospechosos. El SDPAN franquista y la gestión del patrimonio artístico en la Barcelona de posguerra

    Una de las muchas consecuencias de la Guerra Civil española fue la deslocalización de su lugar de origen de buena parte del patrimonio histórico-artístico mueble nacional, una compleja situación a la que tuvo que responder la dictadura franquista, que lo hizo por medio de su Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional (SDPAN). El SDPAN fue el encargado de gestionar los procesos de reclamación y devolución a sus legítimos propietarios de todo aquel patrimonio, una gestión que produjo centenares de expedientes administrativos de devolución, que no estuvieron exentos de intentos de engaño y de desvíos sospechosos. El artículo presenta casos que demuestran la picaresca de algunos reclamantes y la dudosa devolución de un conjunto de obras de arte y objetos histórico-artísticos por parte de la Comisaría delegada de la IV Zona del SDPAN en Barcelona.

    One of the many consequences of the Spanish Civil War was the relocation from their place of origin of a large part of the national movable historical-artistic heritage, a complex situation to which the Franco dictatorship had to respond, and it did it through its Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional (SDPAN). The SDPAN was in charge of managing the processes of reclaiming and returning all this heritage to its rightful owners, a management that produced hundreds of administrative files for return, which were not exempt from attempts of scams and suspicious detours. This paper presents examples that demonstrate the roguishness of some claimants and the suspicious restitution of a group of works of art and historical-artistic objects by the delegated commissioner of the IV Zone of the SDPAN in Barcelona.
