Las encuadernaciones mudéjares de bandas rectangulares y góticas-mudéjares de la Biblioteca de la Universidad de Navarra: estudio de la materialidad, ornamentación e intervenciones en su restauración

    La biblioteca de la Universidad de Navarra custodia un importante Fondo Antiguo en el que encontramos incunables y un buen número de obras de los siglos XVI, XVII, XVIII y parte del XIX, hasta 1835. Dentro de los incunables y primeros años del siglo XVI destacan un grupo de siete encuadernaciones mudéjares de bandas rectangulares y cuatro de estilo gótico-mudéjar. El presente trabajo trata de poner en valor este grupo de encuadernaciones no estudiadas, identificando los materiales empleados en su elaboración, sus técnicas de construcción, las estructuras decorativas, junto a los hierros y técnicas de ornamentación y su estado de conservación, haciendo hincapié en las diferentes intervenciones que se han llevado a cabo por los restauradores Sergio Robles Salgado, Garazi Valverde y Blanca Gallejones a finales del XX y primeros años del XXI.

    The library of the Universidad de Navarra holds an important collection of rare books including incunabula and a good number of items from the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, up to 1835. Among the incunabula and early 16th-century editions are a group of seven Mudejar bindings with rectangular bands and four in the Gothic-Mudejar style. This article focuses on this group of unstudied bindings, identifying materials used, construction, techniques and decoration, as well as the metal furniture and ornamentation and the state of conservation. Particular emphasis is laid on the work carried out by the restorers Sergio Robles Salgado, Garazi Valverde and Blanca Gallejones at the end of the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries.
