    The essay intends to support the exegetic thesis (which was first supported by Giovanni Pozzi and argued in the 70s of the ’900) that Marino is an author fully and lucidly immersed in the intellectual climate of his century, not certainly to become an exponent of scientific or philosophical truths, but to produce a poetry that also, with its own ways and institutions, it collaborates (reassembling and recombining the elements submitted by ancient or recent tradition) to establish a new sense (ingenious and subtle, but also vital and brilliant) of human existence and the cosmos.

    Il saggio si prefigge di avvalorare la tesi esegetica (che per primo Giovanni Pozzi sostenne ed argomentò negli anni ’70 del ’900) secondo la quale Marino è autore pienamente e lucidamente immerso nel clima intellettuale del suo secolo, non certo per diventare espositore di verità scientifiche o filosofiche, bensì per produrre una poesia che anch’essa, con i mezzi e gl’istituti a lei peculiari, coopera (riassortendo e ricombinando gli elementi consegnati dalla tradizione antica o recente) a fermare un senso nuovo (fabrile e meccanico, ma anche vitale e ingegnoso) dell’esistenza umana e del cosmo
