  • Post-war architecture heavily relied on mechanical systems which compensated for an architecture which was poorly designed in terms of energy consumption. The related construction boom has left a large stock of inefficient buildings, which must be dealt with in the current scenario of climate emergency. This article will focus on the design strategies that shall be adopted to target the net zero carbon consumption in the context of the whole life carbon of a building.
