The relationship between the shape of cities and energy sources has always been fundamental to their destiny. We are currently experiencing a period of revision of the dynamics between urban agglomerations, energy sources and ways of living, in a general trend towards “sustainability”. The “forms” of sustainability in historic buildings pass through the ability to “read” built architecture, emphasising its natural “features” and reusing existing thermo-hygrometric control mechanisms.
