    Las Fiestas de Gutenberg fueron una celebración promovida por el gremio de tipógrafos de Tegucigalpa, Honduras, para honrar la memoria del inventor de la imprenta. Este artículo describe cómo dichas celebraciones fortalecieron la identidad de los obreros de las tipografías y fomentaron la creación de nuevas producciones artísticas e intelectuales en su honor. También se explica por qué dejaron de ser fiestas públicas y los intentos por revivirlas. La información proviene de los periódicos de la época La Prensa (1907-1910), El Nuevo Tiempo (1911-1919), Excelsior (1921-1923), La Regeneración (1920) y El Cronista (1913-1930).

    The Gutenberg Festival was a celebration promoted by the typographers’ guild of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, to honor the memory of the inventor of the printing press. This article tells the story of these celebrations to show how they served to strengthen the identity of the typography workers and encourage the creation of new artistic and intellectual productions that honored the person honored. It also explains why they stopped being cele-brated as public holidays and the attempts that were made to revive them. The information has come from the newspapers of the time La Prensa(1907-1910), El Nuevo Tiempo (1911-1919), Excelsior (1921-1923), La Regeneración (1920) and El Cronista (1913-1930).
