Brasil
This research proposes the study of the financialization of land and agriculture in Brazil in the recent context, focusing on the increasing number of individuals entering through instruments such as agricultural credit titles and, specially, Investment Funds in Agroindustrial Productive Chains (Fiagro). The aim is to identify the links established between agribusiness, the financial market and individual investors. Methodologically, we employ a bibliographical review of national and international literature, particularly those regarding the entry process of financial logics and actors into rural areas, with a focus on individual investors. Additionally, we analyze data provided by major Brazilian public agencies and the country’s stock market, alongside the legal framework of these instruments. In this way, the aim is to investigate the mechanisms by which new instruments reinforce and update old conflicts, which in turn imprint new dimensions on the Brazilian agrarian issue.
