  • The essay aims at examining the spread of horizontal trade union structures, starting from an analysis of the functions carried out over time by the "Camere del Lavoro" in the urban territory, the methods and issues on which trade unions today gain legitimacy as an actor in the field of citizens’ representation and the characteristics of the negotiating activity focusing on Bologna. The question addressed in the essay is whether the future of trade unions also necessarily requires the consolidation of its presence in the urban territory.
