    La innovación constituye factor clave del éxito educativo en el siglo XXI, implica la capacidad de planificar, restructurar, renovar, reinventar y/o transformar la práctica educativa, donde el aprendizaje enseñanza combine el pensamiento crítico, libre, creativo, autónomo y divergente, que provoque producciones de información, ciencia y tecnología de alto valor. El problema se relaciona con la persistente idea que asocia la innovación educativa únicamente al uso de tecnologías y herramientas de Inteligencia Artificial (IA). El objetivo del estudio busca promover la supresión de criterios reduccionistas que asocian la innovación al uso de tecnologías e IA, en perspectiva de configurar una cosmovisión consciente que innovar implica diseñar nuevas ofertas académicas, preparar recursos y materiales didácticos flexibles, construir ambientes con aulas interactivas, capacitación docente, fortalecer liderazgos y articular acciones que transformen la educación para transformar la sociedad en dimensiones efectivas que resuelva problemas. Es una investigación básica, enfoque metodológico cuantitativo, diseño no experimental, nivel descriptivo explicativo; cálculo de muestra probabilística con 5% de error, 388 estudiantes de la Universidad Técnica de Machala, universo 13.328. Los hallazgos muestran que para el 98% la innovación mejora la calidad educativa; para el 94% los desafíos son: capacitar a docentes, erradicar la resistencia al cambio, invertir en infraestructura y tecnologías innovadoras; el 62% prefiere la modalidad presencial para innovar. Esto ratifica que innovar no solamente es utilizar tecnologías e IA.

    Innovation is a key factor of educational success in the twenty-first century, it implies the ability to plan, restructure, renew, reinvent and/or transform educational practice, where teaching learning combines critical, free, creative, autonomous and divergent thinking, which causes high-value productions of information, science and technology. The problem is related to the persistent idea that associates educational innovation only with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and tools. The objective of the study seeks to promote the suppression of reductionist criteria that associate innovation with the use of technologies and AI, with a view to configuring a conscious worldview that innovation implies designing new academic offerings, preparing flexible teaching resources and materials, building environments with interactive classrooms, teacher training, strengthening leadership, and articulating actions that transform education to transform society into effective dimensions that Solve problems. It is a basic research, quantitative methodological approach, non-experimental design, explanatory descriptive level; calculation of a probabilistic sample with 5% error, 388 students from the Technical University of Machala, universe 13,328. The findings show that for 98% innovation improves the quality of education; for 94% the challenges are: training teachers, eradicating resistance to change, investing in infrastructure and innovative technologies; 62% prefer the face-to-face modality to innovate. This ratifies that innovation is not.
