Objetivo. Reflexionar sobre la metodología narrativa en ciencias sociales como un método válido que revela realidades profundas que otros métodos no pueden penetrar. Metodología. Se ha aplicado un método conversacional que acude a las experiencias de docentes investigadores. Resultados. Los resultados se condensan en percatarse de la sobre-teorización en ciencias sociales y humanas, en hacer ver la necesidad de tornar sobre los sujetos en la vida personal y colectiva, en sus situaciones y acontecimientos cruciales, sobre sus relatos, germen de las teorías posibles. Conclusiones. El método narrativo es la lectura crítica que los sujetos hacen del presente desde sus propias circunstancias y los teóricos elevan al carácter de una narrativa entre filosófica, científica y literaria.

Objective. The objective of this paper is the reflection on the narrative methodology in social sciences as a valid method that reveals deep realities that other methods cannot pervade. Methodology. A conversational method resorting to the teacher-researchers’ experiences was applied. Results. The results are condensed in realizing about the over-theorization of social and human sciences, and in making consciousness on the need to approach subjects in their personal and collective life, in their situations and crucial events, on their narratives which are the seeds for possible theories. Conclusions. The narrative method is the critical reading that subjects make of the present from their own circumstances that theorists upgrade to the character of a narrative between the philosophical, the scientific, and the literary.
