In K.: relato de uma busca, Bernardo Kucinski (2016) constructs a microcosmic autofictional narrative about a father’s search for his daughter, who "disappeared" during the Brazilian military dictatorship. The visceral description of the absence of answers sews the plot to expose to the reader a moving environment in which it is imperative for the protagonist to distrust the clues found. The article explores the resistance and clandestinity there circumscribed: the actions of the daughter and of the father clashed with the work of erasing the truth by the dictatorship. Theoretically, notions regarding resistance to the repressive system are addressed, based on Konrad (2013); to the clandestine act of opposition, thought by Scarpelli (2009); and to the question of loss after the disappearance of hope, by Figueiredo (2017). It is thus observed that death in fiction incites the rewriting of history through a conflictive and painful rescue of memory.
