    El trabajó abordó la formación profesional del desarrollo sostenible, concebido como una estrategia para lograr cambios en la sostenibilidad ambiental, económica y social de la población que busca soluciones a los problemas del siglo XXI por los que atraviesa. El objetivo del trabajo fue analizar de manera critica la formación profesional en las instituciones de enseñanza superior para determinar su impacto en el desarrollo sostenible de la sociedad. El trabajo se inserta en el paradigma cuantitativo, para lo cual se utilizó la siguiente metodología: Se aplicó una encuesta conformada por un cuestionario de 8 preguntas dirigidos a 10 autoridades, 30 docentes y 60 estudiantes, con la ayuda de los métodos: inductivo, deductivo, analítico y sintético, la técnica utiliza fue la encuesta. Al final del trabajo se encontró los siguientes resultados: No se desarrolla las competencias para el desarrollo sostenible de la sociedad. No recibe formación específicamente relacionados con la sostenibilidad, social y ambiental durante su formación académica.

    The work addressed Professional Training for Sustainable Development, conceived as a strategy to achieve changes in the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the population seeking solutions to the problems of the 21st century. The objective of the work was to critically analyze professional training in Higher Education institutions to determine its impact on the sustainable development of society. The work is inserted in the quantitative paradigm, for which the following methodology was used: A survey was applied consisting of a questionnaire of 8 questions addressed to 10 authorities, 30 teachers and 60 students, with the help of the following methods: inductive, deductive, analytical and synthetic, the technique used was the survey. Then, the corresponding information was triangulated to obtain the results and conclusions. At the end of the work the following results were found: The competencies for the sustainable development of society are not developed. They do not receive training specifically related to sustainability, social and environmental during their academic training. The integration of principles contributes to the development of sustainability. Does not participate in projects related to social and environmental sustainability. Most of them do not develop any type of competencies. Finally, it is concluded that it was possible to critically analyze the professional training in the institutes.
