    Arturo Marasso (1890-1970), el poeta y humanista riojano, tenía una afición que raras veces consta en sus biografías: era bibliófilo. Durante largos años había ido reuniendo en subiblioteca libros de gran valor, que tuvo que vender por necesidades apremiantes. Más detres mil de esos ejemplares fueron comprados en 1956 por la Universidad Nacional del Surpara el recientemente creado Instituto de Humanidades y son el corazón de la Biblioteca delDepartamento de Humanidades, que lleva el nombre de su antiguo poseedor. Una centenade volúmenes proceden de los siglos XVI al XIX e integran el fondo antiguo de la Institución,pero también hay obras de la primera mitad del siglo XX, valiosas por distintas razones quees preciso identificar y describir, entre ellas una pequeña colección de ediciones príncipes deRubén Darío. El presente trabajo se abocará al estudio de la materialidad de dicho corpus,con el doble propósito de indagar en las marcas de Marasso como lector de Darío y autor delerudito estudio Rubén Darío y su creación poética (1934) y de contribuir con la Biblioteca enla puesta en valor de su patrimonio.

    Arturo Marasso (1890-1970), the poet and humanist from La Rioja, had a hobby that rarelyappears in his biographies: he was a bibliophile. For many years he had been collectingin his library books of great value, which he had to sell due to pressing needs. More thanthree thousand of these copies were purchased in 1956 by the Universidad Nacional delSur for the recently created Instituto de Humanidades and are the heart of the Bibliotecadel Departamento de Humanidades, which bears the name of its former owner. A hundredvolumes come from the 16th to the 19th centuries and make up the Institution’s old collection, but there are also works from the first half of the 20th century, valuable fordifferent reasons that need to be identified and described, including a small collection ofeditions prince of Rubén Darío. The present work will focus on the study of the materialityof the said corpus, with the double purpose of investigating the marks of Marasso as a readerof Darío and author of the scholarly study Rubén Darío y su creación poética (1934) and ofcontributing to the Biblioteca in the enhancement of its assets.
