    Este estudio analizó la influencia entre la infraestructura vial, la visibilidad actual de la simbología, las restricciones de inteligibilidad en la intersección de las avenidas Universidad y Tecnológico en Querétaro, a juzgar por la conducta de peatones y ciclistas. Su objetivo fue distinguir elementos críticos que dañan la seguridad vial y, basándose en los resultados del estudio, dar soluciones prácticas para moderar estos riesgos. Se utilizó un enfoque mixto, incluyendo la encuesta de 120 usuarios, de los cuales el 55% son peatones y el restante ciclista, también, se realizó un seguimiento en distintas horas de la intersección y finalmente se hizo un análisis normativo del Código Urbano del Estado de Querétaro y la Ley General de Inclusión para Personas con Discapacidad. Los resultados indicaron que el 72% de los ciclistas y el 68% de los peatones, experimentaron problemas para reconocer las señales debido a problemas de visual ubicación y la simbología empleada. Así, el tiempo promedio para transitar la intersección fue de 3 minutos, más de los 20 segundos asignados por los semáforos existentes. El estudio señala como la infraestructura urbana y el señalamiento actual inadecuado está afectando en gran medida la seguridad vial. Por ello, se dan recomendaciones de mejorar el señalamiento, dar mantenimiento a las rampas y diseñar nuevamente el carril de bicicletas, además de llevar a cabo estudios de seguimiento para evaluar futuras intervenciones.

    This study analyzed the relationship between road infrastructure, current visibility of symbols, and intelligibility restrictions at the intersection of Universidad and Tecnológico Avenues in Querétaro, based on the behavior of pedestrians and cyclists. Its objective was to identify critical elements that impair road safety and, based on the study results, provide practical solutions to mitigate these risks. A mixed approach was used, including a survey of 120 users, 55% of whom were pedestrians and the remainder cyclists. The survey was followed at various times at the intersection. Finally, a regulatory analysis of the Urban Code of the State of Querétaro and the General Law on the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities was conducted. The results indicated that 72% of cyclists and 68% of pedestrians experienced difficulty recognizing the signs due to visual location and the symbology used. Thus, the average crossing time at the intersection was 3 minutes, more than the 20 seconds allotted by the existing traffic signals. The study highlights how the current urban infrastructure and inadequate signage are significantly affecting road safety. Therefore, recommendations are made to improve signage, maintain ramps, and redesign the bicycle lane, in addition to conducting follow-up studies to evaluate future interventions.
