    Introduction: Caregivers, whether formal or informal, have developed a key role in the quality of life of those who are cared for. Speech-language and hearing sciences, in itself, can help the caregiver, covering the different age groups. In this sense, the speech-language and hearing therapist is one of the social actors who can contribute to caregiving and its burden, helping in the communication of the caregiver and the ones who are cared for. Objective: verify in scientific literature what has been published regarding the theme related to caregivers and speech, language and hearing sciences, through an integrative literature review. Methods: A survey of the studies published in online SciELO, BVS and PubMed databases was carried out, using the keywords “Caregivers” and “Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences”, having the articles published in the last ten years in Portuguese, English and Spanish languages as inclusion criteria. Results:14 publications were chosen for the analysis of this review. The articles were sorted into the following categories: kinship, type of caregivers, theme discussed and age. In most studies, the prevalence of informal caregivers, namely, parents was observed. Most different studies focused on children and themes related to Autism and Aphasia were prevalent. Conclusion: Scientific articles have shown interest in studies covering the different age groups and themes. Thus, an emphasis was placed on the study of children’ s informal caregivers and on the topic thematic regarding Autism Spectrum Disorder and Aphasia.

    Introdução: O cuidador, seja ele formal ou informal, tem desempenhado um papel fundamental na qualidade de vida de quem é cuidado. A fonoaudiologia, em sua atuação, pode auxiliar o cuidador, perfazendo as diferentes faixas etárias. Neste sentido, o fonoaudiólogo é um dos atores sociais que podem contribuir para o cuidar, sua sobrecarga e auxiliar na comunicação do cuidador e de quem é cuidado. Objetivo: Verificar na literatura científica o que tem sido publicado referente à temática relacionada aos cuidadores e a fonoaudiologia, por meio de uma revisão integrativa da literatura. Métodos: Foi realizado um levantamento de estudos publicados nas bases de dados online SciELO, BVS e PubMed, utilizando-se os descritores “Cuidadores” e “Fonoaudiologia”, tendo como critérios de inclusão trabalhos publicados nos últimos dez anos, nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol. Resultados: Foram eleitas 14 publicações para compor esta revisão. Os artigos foram divididos nas seguintes categorias: grau de parentesco, tipo de cuidadores, temática abordada e faixa etária. Na maioria dos estudos observou-se prevalência de cuidadores informais, sendo eles os pais. O público infantil compreendeu o enfoque dado pelos diferentes estudos e as temáticas relacionadas ao Autismo e às Afasias foram mais prevalentes. Conclusão: Os artigos científicos têm evidenciado o interesse em estudos abrangendo as diferentes faixas etárias e temáticas distintas. Assim sendo, observou-se ênfase no estudo de cuidadores informais do público infantil e temática referente ao Transtorno do Espectro Autista e Afasia.
