Disciplina Metodologia da Pesquisa Científica em Saúde na modalidade a distância: conteúdo, abordagem e avaliação

    Introdução: Dois editoriais recentes chamaram a atenção para a importância dos métodos de investigação científica. Objetivos: Apresentar resultados preliminares relativos ao conteúdo, condução e avaliação da Disciplina Metodologia de Pesquisa Científica em Saúde (DMPCS). Métodos:Intervenção de ensino “antes e depois”. A janela do estudo ocorreu de março a agosto de 2015. Onze mestrandos ingressaram no programa de Telemedicina e Telessaúde. Previamente ao início da disciplina, eles responderam ao questionário de Competência em Informação (CI). A DMPCS apresentou oito módulos, 60 horas, modalidade a distância. As mensagens postadas nos oito fóruns foram contadas e analisadas. Os Projetos de Pesquisa (PP) desenvolvidos antes (PP_preliminar) e depois da DMPCS (PP_revisado) foram pontuados segundo instrumento de 10 itens. Resultados: Dez mestrandos responderam à pesquisa em CI, idade de 24-59 anos, seis mulheres. Onze concluíram a DMPCS, dez aprovados. Seis submeteram PP_preliminar e PP_revisado. Conclusão: A investigação da CI, a contagem das postagens nos fóruns e o instrumento que comparou as pontuações antes versus depois da DMPCS constituíram ideias originais deste estudo. A CI dos mestrandos e o número de postagens nos fóruns foram baixas; o mais popular foi o que introduziu a busca bibliográfica. Observou-se uma melhoria objetiva na pontuação do PP após a DMPCS, embora tal achado não tenha expressão estatística pela pequena amostra de seis participantes que submeteram as duas versões do PP. Para os mestrandos, a DMPCS revelou a importância da qualidade metodológica dos PP. A DMPCS é adequada para uso presencial ou a distância.

    Introduction: Two recent editorials have drawn attention to the importance of scientific research methods. Objectives:To present preliminary results regarding the content, approach and evaluation of the Research Methods in Health (DMPCS) discipline. Methods: This interventional study took place between March and August 2015. Eleven M.Sc. students enrolled in the Telemedicine and Telehealth program. Prior to the beginning of the course, they answered the Information Literacy (IL) questionnaire. The 60-hour DMPCS was divided into eigth modules and taught via distance learning mode. The messages posted in the eight forums were counted and analyzed. The Research Projects (PP) developed before (preliminary PP) and after the DMPCS (revised PP) were scored according to a 10-item instrument. Results: The CI questionnaire was answered by ten M.Sc. students, aged 24-59 years, of whom six were female. Eleven students concluded the DMPCS, and ten passed. Six submitted both the preliminary PP and the revised PP. Conclusion: The use of the CI instrument, the counting of forum posts, and the comparison of scores before and after DMPCS were the original ideas of this study. The number of posts in the forums and the overall completion of CI instrument were low; however, the bibliographic search section was popular. There was an objective improvement in PP scores after DMPCS, although this finding is not statistically significant, since only six participants submitted the two versions of PP. For M.Sc. students, the DMPCS revealed the importance of the methodological quality of the PP. The DMPCS was found to be suitable for both face-to-face teaching or distance learning.
