    The development of the occlusion and of the compound bucomaxilofacial it is linked to the embryonic development. The head's congenital abnormalities and neck arise during the transformation of the branchial apparel. Due to the compound development of the face and palate, the congenital abnormalities are common. Your aetiology becomes separated in genetic factors and you adapt. Congenital deformities can be caused by the united performance of these factors, (inheritance multifatorial). Alterations of genetic origin, affect different structures craniofacials. It is indispensable to recognize the ones that they provoque alterations in the compound bucomaxilofacial, to settle down a more appropriate treatment for the patient. The revision of the syndromes of congenital abnormalities, points out clinical aspects, incidence, prognostic and treatment of the same ones providing information about your manifestations in the compound craniofacial, especially the ones that involve the buccal cavity.

    O desenvolvimento da oclusão e do complexo bucomanxilofacial relaciona-se com o desenvolvimento embrionário. As malformações congênitas da cabeça e do pescoço originam-se durante a transformação do aparelho branquial. Devido ao complexo desenvolvimento da face e do palato, as malformações congênitas são comuns. A sua etiologia divide-se em fatores genéticos e ambientais. Deformidades congênitas podem ser causadas pela atuação conjunta desses fatores (herança multifatorial). Alterações de origem genética afetam diferentes estruturas craniofaciais. É imprescindível reconhecê-las no complexo bucomaxilofacial, para se estabelecer um tratamento mais apropriado ao paciente. A revisão das síndromes de malformações congênitas ressalta aspectos clínicos, incidência, prognóstico e tratamento, proporcionando informações sobre suas manifestações no complexo craniofacial, especialmente as que envolvem a cavidade bucal.
