Resumen de Enseñanza de las artes en contexto de ruralidad: Principales resultados del estudio en Educación artística en escuelas públicas de la Región de O’Higgins

  Este artículo presenta los resultados finales del Estudio sobre el Estado de la Educación Artística de la Región del Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins en Chile, en el sistema educativo público, urbano y rural regional. Esta investigación, inédita en el país, permite caracterizar las prácticas pedagógicas, recursos e importancia atribuida a la enseñanza artística entre los/las profesionales responsables de impartir educación artística, en el nivel de Educación Básica (primaria), en el ámbito rural. Los resultados evidencian una gran necesidad de formación inicial y continúa entre el profesorado a cargo, de modo de responder adecuadamente a los desafíos del territorio. Por otra parte, se evidencia una baja inversión en equipamiento e infraestructura que no afecta a la importancia atribuida a las artes para fomentar una educación de calidad para niños, niñas y adolescentes. La metodología utilizada fue mixta, esto es, cualitativa y cuantitativa, a través de entrevistas semi estructuradas, grupos focales y una encuesta aplicada al profesorado y artistas/educadores/as de O’HIggins con el propósito de recopilar datos relevantes para el análisis. Cabe destacar que el estudio fue desarrollado durante la pandemia por COVID 19, mediante plataformas como Zoom y llamadas telefónicas.

  This article presents the final results of the Study on the State of Artistic Education in the Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins Region in Chile, in the regional public, urban and rural educational system. This research, unprecedented in the country, allows us to characterize the pedagogical practices, resources and importance attributed to artistic education among professionals responsible for providing artistic education, at the level of Basic Education (primary), in rural areas. The results show a great need for training and professional development in the artistic area among the teachers in charge, to adequately respond to the challenges of the territory. On the other hand, there is evidence of a low investment in equipment and infrastructure that does not affect the importance attributed to the arts to promote quality education for children and adolescents. The methodology used was mixed, that is, qualitative and quantitative, through semi-structured interviews, focus groups and a survey applied to teachers and O’Higgins artists/educators, in order to collect relevant data for analysis. It should be noted that the study was developed during the COVID 19 pandemic, through platforms such as zoom and phone calls.
