    Este artículo analiza las dinámicas de acceso a aquellos cabildos catedrales de la Península Ibérica con estatuto de limpieza de sangre, desde una perspectiva comparada, y la interacción con el fenómeno de la mercantilización de beneficios eclesiásticos. Este fenómeno creó un mercado curial abierto a cualquier solicitante con capacidad económica, independientemente de su ascendencia ¿Cuál fue el resultado del choque entre el ideal ibérico de pureza y la mercantilizada realidad romana?

    This article analyses from a comparative perspective the dynamics of applying for positions in cathedral chapters which held purity of blood statutes in the Iberian Peninsula, and the interaction with the phenomenon of marketization of ecclesiastical benefices. This phenomenon created a Curial market that was open to any applicant with sufficient economic capacity, regardless of their ancestry. What was the result of the clash between the Iberian concept of purity and the commercialized Roman reality?
