    El presente artículo analiza la pervivencia y transformación de los motivos del anillo de compromiso y la estatua sobrenatural desde la literatura medieval hasta la actualidad. Para ello, se estudia cómo estos elementos simbólicos conectan lo terrenal con lo fantástico en la «Cantiga XLII», de Alfonso X el Sabio, el exemplum «Cabalgata nocturna» del Espéculo de los legos, «La Vénus d’Ille», de Prosper Mérimée, y La novia cadáver, de Tim Burton. De esta manera, se pretende establecer un diálogo entre el pasado y el presente que resalte el vínculo entre la realidad y lo maravilloso.

    This article analyses the survival and transformation of the motifs of the engagement ring and the supernatural statue from medieval literature to the present day. To do so, it examines how these symbolic elements connect the earthly with the fantastic in Alfonso X the Wise's «Cantiga XLII», the exemplum «Cabalgata nocturna» from the Espéculo de los legos, Prosper Mérimée's La Vénus d'Ille and Tim Burton's Corpse Bride. In this way, the aim is to establish a dialogue between the past and the present, highlighting the link between the reality and the marvellous.
