    Abstract This paper aims to consider the importance of the figure of the German poet Friedrich Hölderlin in the essay Hölderlin and the Question of the Father, by Jean Laplanche, on its two fronts: to explore, in the aesthetic sense, the way in which psychoanalysis will understand a mad artist, and to establish the relationship between madness and language.

    Resumo Este trabalho tem o objetivo de pensar a importância que a figura do poeta alemão Friedrich Hölderlin tem no ensaio Hölderlin e a questão do Pai, de Jean Laplanche, sobre suas duas frentes: explorar, no sentido estético, o modo como a psicanálise irá entender um artista louco, e estabelecer a relação loucura-linguagem.
