    Abstract This work explores the imaginary consistency of the obsessive in relation to their psychic constitution, using Lacan’s theory of the mirror stage to consider the dynamics of the image and its relation to the subject’s position in relation to the Other. The study reveals how the obsessive sustains themselves through narcissism and aggressiveness. The strategy used by the obsessive to deal with the imaginary requires careful analysis and raises the central question of the research: the hypothesis that the imaginary duplicates to give a consistency of unity to the obsessive in relation to being the imaginary phallus for the mother.

    Resumo Este trabalho explora a consistência imaginária do obsessivo em relação à sua constituição psíquica, utilizando a teoria do estádio do espelho, de Lacan, para pensar a dinâmica da imagem e sua relação com a posição do sujeito em relação ao Outro. O estudo revela como o obsessivo se sustenta no narcisismo e na agressividade. A estratégia usada pelo obsessivo para lidar com o imaginário requer uma análise cuidadosa e levanta a questão central da pesquisa: a hipótese de que o imaginário duplica para dar consistência de unidade ao obsessivo em relação a ser o falo imaginário para a mãe.
