En el presente estudio se aborda la figura de Erasmo de Rotterdan tal y como la describe Stefan Zweig en su ensayo biográfico. Una vez más, el autor aborda la problemática entre tolerancia e intolerancia, justo en una época, el siglo XVI, cuando se produce el cisma en la Iglesia católica como consecuencia de la Reforma llevada por Lutero. Dos personajes centrales: Erasmo y Lutero. Dos ideas contrapuestas: tolerancia frente a intolerancia. Una trágica consecuencia: la división de la cristiandad.

This study addresses the figure of Erasmus of Rotterdan as described by Stefan Zweig in his biographical essay. Once again, the author addresses the problem between tolerance and intolerance, precisely at a time, the 16th century, when the schism occurred in the Catholic Church as a consequence of the Reformation led by Luther. Two central characters: Erasmus and Luther. Two opposing ideas: tolerance versus intolerance. A tragic consequence: the division of Christianity.
