    El presente trabajo pone en evidencia los puntos de convergencia sobre la ética de la persona desde el pensamiento de Immanuel Kant y Jacques Maritain. La revisión teórica se enfoca desde la filosofía ética-moral kantiana y maritainiana, y propone una aproximación a la conceptualización de la persona. Desde esta perspectiva, la pregunta que sustentó este escrito se delimitó de la siguiente manera: ¿qué hace falta para ser “persona”? Pudo concluirse que ambos autores limitan esta concepción, indicando que existen seres humanos que no pueden ser catalogados como tales por no poseer racionalidad, autonomía, responsabilidad o posibilidad de socializar y comunicarse con los demás. Sin embargo, las diferencias son claves, puesto que Maritain resalta la idea de los Derechos Humanos como centrales para lograr el bien común.

    The present work highlights the points of convergence on the ethics of the person from the thought of Immanuel Kant and Jacques Maritain. The theoretical review is focused from the Kantian and Maritainian ethical-moral philosophy, and proposes an approach to the conceptualization of the person. From this perspective, the question that supported this writing was defined as follows: what does it take to be a “person”? It was concluded that both authors limit this conception, indicating that there are human beings who cannot be classified as such because they do not possess rationality, autonomy, responsibility or the possibility of socializing and communicating with others. However, the differences are key, since Maritain highlights the idea of Human Rights ascentral to achieving the common good.
