    Desde el descubrimiento de su materia prima en la región de Magallanes y la Antártica Chilena, la industria del petróleo, principalmente a través de la Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP), gatilló transformaciones que impactaron no solo en la estructura económica y material, sino también en la estructura social e inmaterial. Para visibilizar esta última, emerge un término que denomina a un intangible: lo enapino. Este estudio explora en su comprensión y vigencia a partir de la interpretación de las memorias de quienes se identifican con él y posibilitan su subsistencia. Lo enapino se manifiesta como aquel apelativo de trabajadores y extrabajadores que no mutaron con las dinámicas de la empresa, sino que, complacidos por los beneficios que esta les otorgó, definieron una identidad que fue acumulativa de experiencias y trayectorias, ajenas o propias, con actitudes que afrontaron los desafíos territoriales y del pasado, y que son merecedoras de transmitirse hasta el presente.

    Since the discovery of hydrocarbons in the Magallanes and Antártica Chilena Region, the oil industry, mainly through the Empresa Nacional del Petróleo (ENAP), triggered transformations that impacted not only an economic and material structure, but, above all, a social and immaterial structure. To make it visible, a term that refers to an intangible emerges: enapino. This study explores its understanding and validity, based on an interpretation of memories of those who identify with it and make its subsistence possible. The term enapino manifests itself as an appellative of workers and former workers, who did not mutate with the dynamics of the company but, pleased by its granted benefits, defined an identity that is not other than the accumulation of experiences and trajectories, from others or their own, with attitudes that faced the challenges of the territory and the past, which are worthy of being transmitted to the present.
