This article1 looks at the value of social capital created by LEADER/CLLD (Liaison Entre Actions de Développement de l’Économie Rurale/Community Led Local Development) and argues that in times of geo-political, social, and environmental challenges, local networks of trust, information flow, and cooperation matter even more – they can facilitate preparedness, crisis response, and resilience. Extensive LEADER/ CLLD networks in rural Europe could also be better valorised and equipped to build social resilience in response to global threats of disinformation and misinformation.
