Resumen de Repensar las infraestructuras de movilidad para conseguir una metrópolis mejor

  El objetivo de las infraestructuras de movilidad siempre ha sido conectar personas, unir asentamientos y estructurar el territorio. En Europa, donde la mayor parte de la población vive en zonas urbanas, a menudo las infraestructuras de movilidad especializadas y monofuncionales fragmentan el territorio provocando segregación social y externalidades (congestión, contaminación…). Ello implica cuestionarse: ¿Es esta la manera más adecuada de utilizar estas infraestructuras? ¿Pueden las metrópolis desarrollar una movilidad más sostenible, que permita a los ciudadanos moverse de forma más eficiente y equitativa y que reduzca las externalidades? Dentro del programa europeo URBACT y la red RiConnect (Rethink Mobility Infrastructure) se desarrolló una metodología para repensar las infraestructuras de movilidad y conseguir así una metrópolis más sostenible, equitativa y atractiva para todos, proponiendo una aproximación integrada y cocreada entre todos los agentes implicados. Esta metodología se ha plasmado en una guía, descargable en la web de URBACT RiConnect, cuyo lenguaje accesible y acompañado de ilustraciones la hace ideal para cargos electos, técnicos y ciudadanos. Con este nuevo documento se han sentado las bases para la implementación de las futuras avenidas metropolitanas que estructurarán de forma cívica la metrópolis de Barcelona, tal como define el Plan Director Urbanístico Metropolitano aprobado inicialmente en 2023.

  The aim of mobility infrastructures has always been to connect people, link settlements and structure the territory. In Europe, where most of the population lives in urban areas, specialised and monofunctional mobility infrastructures often fragment the territory, causing social segregation and externalities (congestion, pollution...). This raises such questions as: Is this the most appropriate way to use these infrastructures? Can metropolises develop more sustainable mobility, enabling citizens to move more efficiently and equitably and reducing externalities? Within the European URBACT programme and the RiConnect (Rethink Mobility Infrastructure) network, a methodology was developed to rethink mobility infrastructures and thus achieve a more sustainable, equitable and attractive metropolis for all, proposing an integrated and co-created approach between all the agents involved. This methodology has been translated into a guide, downloadable from the URBACT RiConnect website, whose accessible language and illustrations make it ideal for elected officials, technicians and citizens. This new document lays the foundations for the implementation of the future metropolitan avenues that will give the metropolis of Barcelona a civic structure, as defined in the Metropolitan Urban Master Plan initially approved in 2023.
