    En el presente artículo se realizó una revisión respecto a la administración de los recursos naturales en el cantón Pasaje, Ecuador, y su influencia en el progreso del turismo durante el período comprendido entre 2019 y 2023.  La ciudad de Pasaje se caracteriza por su abundante biodiversidad y atractivos naturales, lo que la convierte en un destino turístico con un potencial significativo. No obstante, una gestión adecuada de estos recursos es fundamental para alcanzar un desarrollo turístico sostenible. El objetivo de esta investigación consistió en evaluar la efectividad de las estrategias implementadas para impulsar el turismo y generar ingresos complementarios para la comunidad local. La metodología que se adopto es de carácter descriptivo y cuantitativo, mediante la recopilación de datos bibliográficos y la realización de una encuesta a 24 administradores de sitios turísticos en Pasaje. Este estudio proporciono recomendaciones para fortalecer las estrategias de sostenibilidad y mejorar la competitividad turística del cantón Pasaje en el futuro.

    This article reviews the management of natural resources in the canton of Pasaje, Ecuador, and its influence on the progress of tourism during the period between 2019 and 2023.  The city of Pasaje is characterized by its abundant biodiversity and natural attractions, which makes it a tourist destination with significant potential. However, proper management of these resources is essential to achieve sustainable tourism development. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effectiveness of the strategies implemented to boost tourism and generate complementary income for the local community. The methodology adopted is descriptive and quantitative, through the collection of bibliographic data and the conduct of a survey of 24 administrators of tourist sites in Pasaje. This study provided recommendations to strengthen sustainability strategies and improve the tourism competitiveness of the Pasaje canton in the future.
