    Nuestra investigación se centra en el análisis de la intendencia y documentación generada por las autoridades militares en lo que se refiere al funcionamiento de las prisiones de esta ciudad durante los años de la Guerra Civil y la posguerra. Los libros matrices de estas prisiones, junto con las órdenes generadas por la «Ayudantía Mayor», nos han servido para observar las posibilidades que nos puede ofrecer y las dificultades a las que nos enfrentamos cuando analizamos este tipo de documentación. Estos registros, depositados en el Archivo Naval de Ferrol (A Coruña) y en el Archivo General de la Marina «Álvaro de Bazán» de Viso del Marqués (Ciudad Real), son esenciales para el estudio de la represión y del sistema penitenciario desarrollado por los militares sublevados en la ciudad.

    Our research focuses on the analysis of the administration and documentation generated by the military authorities regarding the operation of the prisons of this city during the years of the Civil War and the postwar period. The master books of these prisons, with the orders generated by the «Ayudantía Mayor», have helped us to observe the possibilities that it can offer us and the difficulties we face when we analyze this type of documentation. These records, located in the Naval Archive of Ferrol (A Coruña) and in the General Archive of the Navy «Álvaro de Bazán» in Viso del Marqués (Ciudad Real), are essential for the study of repression and the penitentiary system developed by the rebellious military in the city.
