The present paper confirms the presence of Laemodonta punctigera (H. Adams and A. Adams 1854) from India, based on the live individuals collected from Junput and Tajpur, West Bengal. It was collected from the roots of healthy-grown mangroves along the north-western coast of the Bay of Bengal. The identification was confirmed by examining the morphological characteristics. A checklist and the detailed distribution of ellobiid pulmonate snails within the Indian region are also presented.
