Los conceptos de sustentabilidad y sostenibilidad surgen a raíz de fenómenos de ámbito global que han tenido efectos o consecuencias principalmente negativas en el medio ambiente; por ello desde los años 80´la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) constituyó la Comisión Mundial sobre el Medio Ambiente y el Desarrollo a fin de aplicar medidas que contrarresten y minimicen estos daños; el turismo no es la excepción ya que si no se lleva de forma consciente y responsable puede tener repercusiones; y de ello depende que la actividad turística se mantenga en el tiempo.
La presente investigación tiene como objetivo proponer estrategias para el desarrollo de prácticas sustentables y sostenibles en el tenor de desarrollar un turismo responsable y consciente en las comunidades rurales que cuentan con recursos turísticos en Balancán, Tabasco a través de una metodología con enfoque cuantitativo, alcance descriptivo; donde con un muestreo probabilístico aleatorio simple se seleccionaron a 230 habitantes para analizar las variables: dimensiones socioculturales, económicas y culturales a fin de proponer estrategias efectivas que contribuyan a desarrollar un turismo responsable con prácticas sustentables y sostenibles; entre los principales hallazgos se tienen diversas áreas de oportunidad para las comunidades, ya que aún el turismo no ha sido detonado como actividad principal; están iniciando respecto a ello por la estación del tren maya que tiene el municipio; por lo que las comunidades están en el mejor momento de iniciar actividades turísticas responsables y conscientes a través de las buenas prácticas entorno a la sustentabilidad y sostenibilidad.

The concepts of sustainability and sustainability arise as a result of global phenomena that have had mainly negative effects or consequences on the environment; For this reason, since the 1980s, the United Nations (ONU) established the World Commission on Environment and Development in order to apply measures that counteract and minimize these damages; Tourism is no exception since if it is not carried out consciously and responsibly it can have repercussions; and it depends on whether tourist activity is maintained over time.
The objective of this research is to propose strategies for the development of sustainable and sustainable practices in the spirit of developing responsible and conscious tourism in rural communities that have tourist resources in Balancán, Tabasco through a methodology with a quantitative approach, descriptive scope. ; where, with a simple random probabilistic sampling, 230 inhabitants were selected to analyze the variables: sociocultural, economic and cultural dimensions in order to propose effective strategies that contribute to developing responsible tourism with sustainable and sustainable practices; Among the main findings are various areas of opportunity for the communities, since tourism has not yet been detonated as a main activity; They are starting with this at the Mayan train station that the municipality has; Therefore, communities are in the best moment to initiate responsible and conscious tourism activities through good practices regarding sustainability and sustainability.
