Between myth and despair, Latin America has searched for the roots of its identity, if it exists. This (self) reflection has been carried out by different subjects, be they intellectuals, politicians, academics, plastic artists, writers, among others. Allpanchis wants to be part of this thought process where we find different readings about what identifies our subcontinent and what the Andean world and the indigenous contingent contribute. For this reason, the title of this issue -«Identities of yesterday, today, forever?»-, in which outstanding Latin American analysts have been summoned so that -from their particular disciplines- they offer the reader various ways of thinking about our reality, also taking into account diverse situations and perspectives.
