Within the overseas migrations of Galician women, no American destination was as important as Argentina, where lived, worked, preserved and transmitted their culture. Although in the last three decades our knowledge about migrations from Galicia to the southern country has experienced notable advances, there is still little we know about the particular problems of women of that origin. The present work seeks to show the value of a group of qualitative sources included under the name of “emigration literature”, to illuminate their experiences of emigration and integration in the area of the city of Buenos Aires throughout the 20th century.
