The study seeks to verify whether the area and height of the trees that make up the oak groves of the Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca presents a distribution pattern depending on the orientation of the slope. In the study, the area cataloged as oak grove from the IV National Forest Inventory is extracted and the height of the trees calculated from LIDAR data. The data obtained is compared with the orientation of the slope. Results indicate that a third of the oak forest is concentrated on the north-facing coasts. In addition, the presence of a pattern is observed in which the slope of the NW-NE quadrant concentrates the trees with the highest height while, in the SW-NE quadrant, the area of trees with the highest height is the smallest of the set.
