    A pesar de la dura represión sufrida por la población local de las Repúblicas Bálticas y la relativa paz social tras la muerte de Stalin, Estonia, Letonia y Lituania mantuvieron una consciencia diferencial con respecto al resto de la Unión Soviética. Paralelamente, la incapacidad soviética para mantener un sistema socioeconómico coherente y sostenible abrió profundas grietas en la sociedad, lo que provocó la búsqueda de reformas para sostenerlo. Este momento histórico fue aprovechado por las Repúblicas Soviéticas Bálticas para buscar su propio modelo de sociedad alternativo. Comprender esta correlación entre la crisis de la Unión Soviética y la trayectoria diferencial elegida por los países bálticos es crucial en esta publicación, cuyo objetivo principal es comprender la ocupación de los Estados Bálticos y las circunstancias en torno a la Vía Báltica que unió a las tres Repúblicas en un movimiento único de manifestaciones pacíficas que condujo a su independencia. El análisis emplea un método histórico-interpretativo, enfatizando la interrelación entre los patrones de resistencia política, económica y cultural.

    Despite the tough repression suffered by the local population of the Baltic Republics and the relative social peace after the death of Stalin, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania maintained a differential consciousness with the rest of the Soviet Union. Parallel, the Soviet inability to maintain a coherent and sustainable socio-economic system opened deep cracks in in the society due a search of reforms to sustain the system. This historical moment was used by the Baltic Soviet Republics to aim for their own alternative society model. Understanding this correlation between the Soviet Union crisis and the differential path chosen by the Baltics is crucial in this publication following its main target of understanding the occupation of the Baltic States and the circumstances around the Baltic Way that united the three Republics in a unique movement of peaceful demonstration leading to their independence. The analysis employs a historical-interpretative method, emphasizing the interrelation between political, economic, and cultural resistance patterns.
