    El artículo aborda la importancia del deporte en la configuración urbana. Presenta dos par-tes diferenciadas. En la primera, se desarrolla un breve recorrido histórico describiendo la relación que se ha ido produciendo entre los espacios deportivos y la ciudad occidental. Esta relación ha ido creciendo paulatinamente desde unos orígenes vinculados a espacios arquitectónicos concretos hasta determinar la totalidad del conjunto urbano con el concepto emergente de Ciudad Activa. Para ejemplificar esta reciente e intensa interacción entre deporte y ciudad se ofrece un caso de estudio, Oberbillwerder. Se trata de nuevo distrito en la ciudad de Hamburgo, cuya planificación se apoya en la sostenibilidad, la inclusividad y, particularmente, en los principios establecidos por el modelo de Ciudad Activa

    The article addresses the importance of sports in urban configuration. It presents two differentiated parts. The first part provides a brief historical overview describing the evolving rela-tionship between sports facilities and the western city. This relationship has gradually expan-ded, evolving from origins tied to specific architectural spaces to influencing the entire urban fabric through the emerging concept of the Active City. To illustrate this recent and intense interaction between sports and the city, the article presents a case study: Oberbillwerder. This is a new district in the city of Hamburg, whose planning is based on sustainability, inclusivity, and, most notably, the principles established by the Active City model.
