    A case of gregarious behaviour in Canthophorus melanopterus melanopterus (Herrich-Schaeffer, 1835) (Heteroptera, Cydnidae, Sehirinae) in the Community of Madrid (Spain) is documented. Its possible relationship with a parental care and the information available on this behaviour within the genus Canthophorus Mulsant & Rey, 1866 in the literature are discussed
