  • Resumen
    • The electric power system (EPS) is a critical subsystem of any satellite, including CubeSats. The functions are to generate, store, regulate, and distribute the electrical power that a satellite and its subsystems needs to fulfill the mission requirements. To design this system a good understanding of each of the key EPS elements and their behavior on orbit is required as well as tools that allow designers to iterate the design process. The primary EPS elements include solar cells, batteries, voltage regulators, and control devices. In this section the main parameters required for EPS design are discussed, focusing on CubeSat missions. Providing designers with an understanding of the development of a preliminary electric power budget is the goal of this section, along with providing an introduction to designs tools that should prove useful to the designer.
