The close relationship between climate change and water alters precipitation patterns and increases the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events, such as droughts and floods. These changes affect both the availability and quality of water, negatively impacting the environment. Due to these events, it is important to address the problem from university settings based on the pillars of Sustainability. In this regard, the curriculum for the Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design at the UAEMex Valle de Chalco University Center includes three learning units in the curricular area of ecology: Natural Resources, Environmental Impact, and Sustainability of Industrial Design. These units are part of the training core and are mandatory. As a contribution to this purpose, an exploratory study was carried out in which the perceptions of students who have taken these units were analyzed in comparison with those who have not. The results show a high appreciation of the environment, with a notable percentage considering it to be threatened and at risk of deterioration. In addition, students express the urgent need to implement sustainable alternatives in the educational field, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda. Finally, illustrations are presented on university perceptions regarding the effects of climate change and water.
